To answer some of your questions, based on my experience:ĮWI5000 yes, Aerophones yes, EWI USB meh! The EWI USB needs a DAW hooked up because it has no internal synthesizer and can't produce any sound on its own. I am looking forward to getting a windsynth and becoming a full-fledged member of this community soon! Thanks in advance! I'd love to get my questions answered, and hear what you all think is the best choice for me and others in a comparable position. If the Aerophone Mini can be hooked up to my DAW that's a big plus. I like the complexity of the EWI, but feel like I'm not ready for it yet.Currently considering getting an Aerophone Mini to learn, and as soon as I master that, getting an EWI USB (or something more expensive). Being able to hook the windsynth up with MIDI just seems like a ton of fun. I am really torn, because I am an absolute beginner on wind instruments and I love the ease of learning with the Aerophone, but I also really love creating sounds with Serum in my DAW.

Can the aerophone mini be hooked up to a DAW (I use Reaper on Windows) with a simple bluetooth usb dongle? Or are there MIDI interfaces that can receive Bluetooth LE MIDI? Or can the usb cable of the mini be used for this as well?.Tl dr *edit: moved tl dr above the questions* Has Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2 MIDI connectivity for connecting to the app, but hooking it up to a DAW is not something Roland or any reviewer talks about.

I do not understand enough about the different keys and buttons each device has, but here are two lists of the musical features each device has: In general, the aerophone mini seems more like an instrument that is designed for standalone use, or for use with the provided app.The EWI USB seems to depend fully on the DAW or synth you hook it up to.

I am attempting to make this post as structured as possible, so it can be used by people who face the same decision as me. I have not been able to find any comparisons of these devices, maybe because they are too different, or maybe because the Aerophone mini is quite new.I am going to list the pros and cons of each device from the information I've gathered over the past days, and then I have some questions I could not find the answer to. I'm on a budget, and don't want to spend more than the 300 or so euros that both the EWI USB and Aerophone mini cost.

I am looking to get a windsynth to learn how to play and to use as a MIDI controller.
